Please do not phone the surgery. You will be invited in due course and we will be working to NHS England guidelines on eligibility and priority.
We are in the process of inviting eligible patients to our Covid booster vaccination clinics. They will be held at Harrietsham Village Hall. The Village Hall is adjacent to the Glebe Medical Centre, Church Road, Harrietsham, ME17 1AP.
We have been allocated the Pfizer vaccine for the booster campaign. If you previously had the AZ/Oxford vaccine, receiving Pfizer this time is not an issue. However, if you had the AZ/Oxford vaccine due to concerns about severe allergic reaction then it is important to let us know. We will then organise an alternative vaccination for you.
Invites will be sent via text message (if we have a mobile telephone number for you) or by letter. The invite will provide instructions of how to book the appointment.
It will also be possible via email; send your name and date of birth to firstname.lastname@example.org . If you are eligible we will respond with an appointment time but please be aware it may be a day or two before you receive a reply with an appointment date/time.
If you do not have online access/email you can book via telephone, but only as a last resort and only when you have received an invite. We are experiencing unprecedented call volumes so please do not call until after 3pm to reduce call waiting time.
We are aware that NHS England is also sending invites out to patients. This is to book an appointment at one of the local vaccination centres. This is separate to Bearsted Medical Practice. It is your choice to book via the NHSE/119 system or with us; however please don’t book both if you get both invites!
Please note that due to delivery constraints, we will not be carrying out Flu vaccinations and Covid boosters in the same appointment.
For more information about the booster campaign and eligibility please follow this link to NHS England website https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-booster-vaccine/
At present the NHS app will not show that you have had a booster vaccination; it will just show the initial two dose course. We have been advised that the app will soon be updated to show the booster doses. However, the booster dose will be added to your clinical record 2-3 days after the vaccination has been administered.
We will endeavour to keep our website and Facebook pages updated with the latest information.
